Ink level indicators unreliable

Unlike the similar canon cartridges, there is no viewing window on these cartriges.
The software told me that my cartridges were empty. I replaced them at great expense.
Later, when it told me the new cartrdige was empty, I ignored it. It is still printing much, much later. I have saved my last set of empty cartiges. I am trying to figure out how to open them under controlled conditions, to determin how much ink was actually still there. If any one has suggestions, let me know.

I needed both black cartridges (one for photo, and one for regular printing). Both cartridges work great!

Products are backsliding

I used to use your cartridges in an older HP printer and was very happy with their production. Your printers are sold so reasonably, it seems, so that we have to buy cartridges that do not give full service, By this I mean that the ink levels go down even when I don't use my printer. There have been times when I have printed 20 to 30 letters or 3 photos and cartridges register empty. I may have to look at other brands of printers/ink supplies.

Short life span!

These HP XL cartridges have a very short life span and do not print anywhere near the amount of pages that HP claims. I am constantly changing cartridges and I am a casual user and don't run a business. Next time I buy a printer, I'll have to rethink this whole HP thing.

received black xl cartridge recently. it works perfectly. concerning the "xl" feature: i hope it gives me MANY more copies than the regular black one. time will tell. send another survey one month from now.

for its size, the hp 5510 aio printer is the best one i ever used. glad i extended my warantee.
