I'm very sorry that this happened. You could try running the printer's automatic cleaning routine to see if that helps.
If that does not work, check the warranty ends date (printed on the cartridge). If it has not passed, you can get a replacement from us. Just use a contact method found at: hp.com/contactHP
The ink quality is very dark and prints crisp quality documents without smear. Only drawback was not printing enough number of prints from a cartridge.
Increase the level of the black ink in cartridge as full as red, yellow, blue and photo cartridge. If it take another teaspoon of ink to bring level up, HP do it. I thought I would get a full cartridge in black but did not.
