With HP genuine ink cartridges, I know it will be a quality product every time. I don't have to worry about ink smudging during the print and I know the page count per cartridge is pretty much what is advertised. Past experience with off-market ink cartridges have resulted in ink smudging and much less printed pages. So even though the off-brand may seem cheaper, it can actually be a much higher cost due to less useable ink per cartridge. Best to stay with the genuine HP ink cartridges for your HP printer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only buy the XL (meaning extra long life) because it is the better value for the money. I probably get 500 pages (one ream)...maybe 600 or so on the average. I choose the genuine HP cartridge because I like the prompts my printer gives recognizing the installation taking me through a couple tests ensuring proper color, alignment, and some other things. HP also sends me a postage paid return envelope for the old cartridge.
