Hi,
I'm really sorry that you had problems with the cartridge. Perhaps the print settings just need to be adjusted.
If that doesn't help and it was a genuine cartridge and the expiration date (on the cartridge) has not passed, you can get a replacement. Just contact us: hp.com/contactHP
I purchased the black ink thinking it would be what I needed to get my hp printer back up and going. But now it still won't work since it says I need to replace the colored ink. Which is odd since it's never been used. I would definitely buy both at the same time so you won't be so surprised.
very little ink and expensive would like a refund !

Hi,
I'm sorry that you were disappointed with the page yield. You might be happier with the XL versions.
It is difficult to say how long before a cartridge will need to be replaced. Provided that it is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints will use up a cartridge rapidly, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry. Also, a lot of black is used in nearly every print job.
Using the draft and black only settings on your printer helps save ink. Also, shutting the printer down between uses can help. However, you always have to use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying.
