All that ease in one easy device

Sense and simplicity IS truly a company motto for Philips. They live it in all of their products. This one too. Never lets me down, super long battery life and very easy to use but yet with enough functions on there to support everything on the device! Awesome! I was almost done but forgot to mention the amazing price/quality balance!

Inconsistent setup results among identical units

I bought 4 of these universal remote control units. I set up 1 on my Samsung TV and when I tried to set up the second one on an identical Samsung TV, it would end up with the on/off button not turning the TV on/off. I tried this several times, double/triple-checking the steps, to no avail.
I decided to try the remote that would not work (on my second Samsung TV) on my Sharp TV. I was able to program it without any problem. The only problem was that the Menu button would bring up the menu but when I tried to navigate the menu with the arrows it would act as if I was pressing the volume arrow buttons.
Given this inconsistency between 2 identical remote control units, I decided to return the other 2 unopened units. Unfortunately, I could not return the first 2 units because the packaging is designed to require destroying them to take the remote unit out. It showed a scissor cut mark that was totally useless (and it still damages the packaging). In summary, the packaging is more concerned with a thief stealing it from a store than a customer being able to open it easiy and/or return the product if not satisfied.
Cons: insonsisent results among the same model
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
