Finally got a chance to try it after a Halloween party. I, the tea-totalling designated driver, blew .00; my passenger, who imbibed, blew a .21. That's why we got it!
No more getting into my car and playing russian roulette with the interlock device wondering if my car is going to start. Especially the morning after. Everyone should buy one if they like to imbibe. I'll continue to use it even after interlock removal. Again... Better safe than sorry.
I had purchased the BACtrack keychain breathalyzer due to the fact I have an interlock in my vehicle. I had previously failed a few tests. I can't keep affording it so I decided to get this to help me. So far it has worked great. No fails in almost a month. Can't wait to be off my interlock. Happy to have this small device though to help myself and my friends and family and others see that it is not safe to drive even after just few drinks your bac could be really high
This is a great product. I purchased this after I was pulled over after an evening with my family. I had had a couple of drinks over a 5 hour period of time. A state trooper pulled me over and I was given a sobriety test and a breathalyzer. I passed all of but the way the trooper made me feel and the possibility it could have been in a life changing situation made me order one of these as a reminder for all of my adult children and myself to think twice and this can provide a moment of focused thought to help guide a decision. Way to easy to think a couple drinks are ok, all depends on the time that passes, not so much how you think or feel and the damage will linger forever.
It seemed to work when i bought it, but last night i went out and when i tried to use it it only said FL. It says in the manual that it means low flow, but it wont take a breath sample at all. Tried a new battery, but that didnt change anything.
Bought this because I was going to my neighbor's house for dinner, who is also a state trooper. I'm in the wine industry and was curious and thought this would come in handy during wine tastings. 2 glasses of wine over a very long dinner, plus an hour after for socialization I tested 3 times. .35, .30 and .30. Shocked I used my neighbor's state issued breathalyzer twice. .09, and .10. 15 minutes later and after swishing around some water in my mouth I used this device again. It was even higher....-.39. I just opened the package yesterday. I'm not diabetic nor on a low carb diet. It's so wildly inaccurate it's not even worth using as a party favor. Apparently I should be near death right now, according to this thing.
I just got this to keep around for myself or my buddies. I brought it home and used it sober and got a .00 as expected. I then drank one beer then waited the 20 minutes and tried it again. I got a .17, I thought maby it was a bug but tried it again and again and got a .23 plus. I weigh 280 lbs and am 6'2"...but apparently I'm trashed off of one 8oz beer. I dont think so. Even my wife tried it (who had nothing to drink) and even she is blowing a .08.
