I have been using TurboTax for many years, and this year was probably the easiest and quickest (last year was the most difficult and time consuming.)Lakewood
What's great about it: Big improvement over last year. Much easier than it was then.
What's not so great: Still a few issues remain regarding the relationships between data entries when they affect each other.

Effective Tax Filing

Have been using Turbo Tax for many years now. Turbo Tax continues to improve the filing process. The guide with Q&A helps cover your complete tax liability. As the tax laws change, Turbo Tax covers you. Good information on the details and reason for the tax requirements. The e-load of W2 forms was very simple and save the manual keying.
What's great about it: Simple step through guide with a review of previous year return
What's not so great: Need to include a free e-file when buying the State Tax Return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2015 Return

TurboTax was helpful in guiding me through the process of completing and filing my return. Only downside was discovering several processing fees that seemingly were required.
What's great about it: Clear, concise, thorough

Simple and Easy to Use

I like that fact that turbo tax retains loses from year to year as well as deductions. I like that fact that W-2's can be looked up and automatically loaded so as to prevent typo's. What I'd like to see is one version versus multiple versions of the product requiring to upgrade if you want specific functionality. I'd also like to see more affordable state returns. When having more states to do then one the extra cost per state is very high almost as much as the original federal and state combined cost.
What's great about it: Retains information from previous years such as carry over loses or deduction.
What's not so great: Multipe versions to choose from. It would be nice if one basic product that gets improved from year to year .

What's not so great: infformation for KY pension exemption does not transfer from W-2 even if shown as non-qualified pension payment
