did well on taxes

it great for people who want to do their own taxes but it does need more information on home owner information.
What's great about it: it explain things
What's not so great: need more explaination on first time home owner with picture of where to find the information

easy to use for filing simple taxes

This program makes it fairly easy to fill out and file my simply taxes.
What's great about it: easy to fallow the steps
What's not so great: could definitely take some time to get through all the deductions

Old Reliable

I have been using TurboTax since 1998. The product is awesome.
The one year where I tried Tax Break was a disaster and I ended up purchasing TurboTax anyway and threw Tax Break out.
What's great about it: ease of use..

Several rough spots

1. Quick Zoom feature did not work.
2. Hard to locate where all the information is going on forms and worksheets. Switch to Forms does not always show you what it is doing such as on worksheets, nor does it show continuation sheets. Need to go to Print and Print Preview to find where it has put all information - then you have to close and go back into Interview and make changes. This process should not be so obscure.
3. Interview for Schedule K-1 Partnerships is inadequate and results in erroneous duplication with 1099-B reporting. There are critical Note instructions buried in an Additional Information form that you can only find by choosing Print and previewing to find this form. The Note instructions need to be covered in Interview questions but are not, resulting in huge errors otherwise. I complained about this last year and nothing was improved.
4. Similar to item 3, interview for sales of partnership interest is inadequately clear and can result in duplication of transactions and large errors.
5. Option to import a W-2 via smartphone not shown in the Deluxe version CD I purchased. I noticed this later in a Help link.
6. Help questions should be answered by support experts and not commingled with just anyone who wants to share his opinions on what to do.

Great Product!!!

I've been using this product for many years. It makes that job of doing your taxes sooooo much easier. If you get stuck with something, there are plenty of places to look for the answers.
I really like the It's Deductible features, which allows you to enter your deductions all year long, and then import them when it's time to do your taxes.

Turbo Tax has been more user friendly this year than I remember from past experience. It is easy enough for anyone to use. I love it!
