I like how easy it is to use and how the refund numbers change instantly once you enter your info.
What's great about it: Simplicity
What's not so great: Nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Excellent Software

This is a great app. Downloading tax information is simple and the step by step process is easy to understand. With an application like this, I will keep coming back every year.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Transfer of last year's information simple
What's not so great: None

I've used Turbo Tax since it's first introduction. Each year gets more user friendly and easier to use. Even the folks who just want to fill out the forms will have a friendly time of it. I especially like the checks at the end. They give me a sense of security that the IRS won't bark at the data format, at least.
I'm a loyal fan.
What's great about it: Interview process helps minimize pain of filing
What's not so great: Medical deductions itemized too finely and not needed for deduction

There is no easy way to go back to the FORM and look at what they tell you to fill in a box without way too much trouble. I got to the end of my return when I was E filing and it stated something about the 1099-DIV, I go to look at the form which was filled in electronically by my brokerage firm and I couldn't look at the two things at the same time, and then there was no explanation.
What's great about it: somewhat easy as it tells mistakes
What's not so great: you go to file and AFTER it says you have no errors it says it missed something

Easy painless process

Turbotax walked me through every step of paying my taxes fro the boxes to refer to on my tax forms to deductions and credits. The questions asked were straightforward. Help buttons were easy to access and comprehend. I was able to insert the taxes that I did last year so I did not have to input as much data. So quick and painless. I can't believe I spent so many years overpaying someone to prepare my taxes!
What's great about it: straightforward
What's not so great: did I enter everything correctly?
