Always a great experience!

I've used Turbo-Tax now for over 15 years. It has always been a positive experience. I really appreciate the amount of info available for each item/page, especially if you want to know more about a specific line item. It has made my tax preparation experience very easy and honestly, enjoyable.
What's great about it: Easy, Intuitive, Informative
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Love the import functionality

Ohio must have simplified the tax forms this year. There were only a couple of questions, and I was done!
Federal taxes are also straightforward. I loved being able to import my W-2, investment packages, and charitable contributions. All forms were loaded perfectly.
One of the greatest time savers is the import of details from the previous year. It saves lots of time.
What's great about it: Ohio State tax was a breeze; good import support
What's not so great: Should I change my W4 depending on payments/refunds?

TurboTax probably paid for itseft

I had to get caught up on previously unfiled returns and had a number of questions and situations since my last filings. I had quite a bit of work to do even with the software but I found that even after going back and making some changes (after realizing that I wasn't getting the best returns I could) I still did better than I had after my first pass.
This sure beats the old method of getting the forms and preparing the returns by hand.

Tax filing great

The program works great, prompts for all the details needed. My only wish would be to ask more of the personal file info up front if one if going to file electronically. I dislike having to stop and go find our driver's licenses and account numbers during the actual filing step.
What's great about it: Interview process helps find every deduction and helps from missing income
What's not so great: A few surprises late in the process, like new id rules from the IRS

Good and bad

Not enough support

Overall good product, but it could be better. I think it may leave out important deductions, at least on the state return. It doesn't have an easy way to get quick answers to questions, or apparently the ability to bring up certain forms.
Also can't leave out certain unnecessary pages when printing returns, wasting a lot of paper and ink.
Also, I'd like to see at least one free e-file for state taxes.

What's not so great: Not enough detailed explaations of certain items, not flexible enough

Great Turbo Tax experience

Thanks for a great tax product. It is better than paying an absorbent amount for a tax preparer.
What's great about it: Easy to use software and easy to go back and forth without lossing data.
What's not so great: none at this time
