I was anxious about filing my return for the first time in almost 40 years after my divorce. Turbo Tax made it wonderfully stress free.
What's great about it: completely user friendly
What's not so great: none

didn't pull my turbotax 2014 returns at the start
on March 10, 2016

i didn't realize till i had finished loading my 2015 tax data that my 2014 info didn't automatically get loaded from my computer into the turbotax 2015 software. I had paid a 6% excise tax in 2014 for $71, and then i scrambled to figure out if i had to do a 1040x, 540x, and 5329. turbotax doesn't say a word during the review process. finally i just pulled my 2014 tax return that i had printed and noticed i had paid the 6% in 2015 for 2014 on the 5329. however since turbotax didn't load my info from 2014, i had to do it after the fact and it asked me to re-enter all my info for 2015 which i had already completed. i couldn't merge the 2014 tax return and all the info i had entered for 2015. in the end, i just don't have the time to input all the info again, so i'm just paying the $71 penalty again (and it shows up on the year over year summary). i dare not alter the 1099-r info that i received in 2015 to say i paid $71 in taxes. it just wasn't worth $71 to re-enter the info and to contest a printed 1099-r that went to the IRS. Turbotax 2015 cost me an extra $71 and that's NOT fine. going online was useless, the fields only work if someone has gone through the same headache as i have. i understand you can't help every novice tax filer like myself, but it shouldn't cost me $71 more because your software didn't automatically pull my 2014 turbotax 1040. and as i said, i couldn't get the 2014 data to merge with all the info i had already filled for 2015. tried, but there was no info online and it wasn't intuitive. you have lost my business forever, i'm going to an accountant after using your software since 2008. as taxes get more complicated, i just don't trust my own accounting ability, and your software leaves much to be desired. thanks for the help though from 2008 - 2013. 2014 and 2015, not so good.
What's great about it: step by step process is mindless and easy
What's not so great: if you have complications, its hard to fix

Just a few glitches
on March 10, 2016

Just a few glitches:
TT mistakenly included my state muni-fund interest in my state income.
TT didn't explain a simple way to correct the w-2 "no income" glitch which made me ineligible to e-file.
TT should have a way to pick and choose among the 33 pages it recommends to print!!!!

I paused before I found that "Edit" allowed me to download my broker data. After that it was straightforward.
What's great about it: Relatively easyto use. Didn't take an inordinate time to complete.
What's not so great: A fewof the steps were confusing, such as to downloan my broker data i had to puch "Edit".
