Wasn't completely Zero

Filing was very smooth. But with the current advertisements, 0,0,0. Well you still have to pay for state filings

Much Buggier than in Prior Years (user > 25 yrs)

- Created bogus W-2s duplicating the withholding from my 1099s. Effectively doubled the tax I had actually paid. Had to individually delete all entries from the W2 forms.
-Created bogus Sch D & Fm 8949s related to nontaxable IRA. Had to individually delete all entries from forms.
- Showed a bogus personal property tax deduction with no apparent source
- generated false 'errors" on review with a message about linking worksheets to 1098s. I just ignored these.
- property tax worksheet had incorrect data.
- In charitable deductions you cannot include more than 1 item in a donation if you value the items yourself, thus multiplying the work involved.
- The "its deductible" link early in the charitable deduction process takes you to help text. You only get to "Its deductible" if you continue to the next screen - confusing.
- It's cumbersome switching back and forth between using "its deductible" and self valuation.
- It seems likely that some of the above errors were generated by a faulty process for importing data from Quicken.

What's great about it: Program design, import from past taxes & Quicken,transfer of fed data to state
What's not so great: many bugs, no way to delete an erroneous form, clunky in kind charitable deductions

THIS IS MY 10TH YEAR USING TURBO TAX. IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER. EASY TO USE AND WHEN I NEEDED TO TALK TO SOMEONE I JUST PUT MY PHONE NUMBER IN AND THEY CALL ME BACK WITHIN 20 MINUTES
What's great about it: EASY TO USE TALKED TO REAL LIVE PEOPLE WHEN I HAD ISSUES AND THEY WALKED ME THROUGH STEP BY STEP
What's not so great: DONATION PORTION KIND OF LABOR INTENSIVE
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Affordable Again

This is the best software tax program. I am so glad it is once again affordable. I was forced to purchase a different program for 2014, and was not happy with it. Thank you Turbo Tax for becoming affordable once again. Totally worth the money.

great, with one exception

If you don't want to hire a CPA, but are nervous about finding, understanding and manually completing IRS tax forms, this software is definitely worth the cost. It still takes time to gather forms, enter the data and review your input for accuracy, but you don't have to worry that some cut-rate tax service is going to do something that gets you into trouble in an IRS audit, nor do you need to pay the higher price for a CPA.
What's great about it: easy to understand and navigate. Saves time over manual completion of forms. Cost effective.
What's not so great: The whole page does not show on one screen, so I have to page down to click continue EVERY page. It's irritating
