Deluxe CD Needs Improvement

Turbo Tax Deluxe CD software does not allow to file a Federal Married Filing Joint return, a state Married Filing Separate Non-Resident return, and a state Married Filing Joint Resident return. This situation happens quite frequently. Tens of thousands of times if not hundreds of thousands of times. What up? Why is your software program so limited.
Also, after a person completes the federal and state return and goes through the checks, Turbo Tax does not allow a person to change its state return. What if a person forgets to put in a state credit that is not associated with the federal return. Pretty average software.
What's great about it: Clear, concise questions, easy to use
What's not so great: Cannot file Fed MFJ,Non-resident MFS,Resident MFJ & cannot go back to change the state return.

The element groupings are limited in scope, thorough in content, and progress logically. Periodic summaries keep you confidently grounded. Periodic comments assure you that they are aware of your form-completing concerns about the content details of getting every tax-reducing matter noted and in its proper place. If they were vacation tour guides you would want to give them a huge tip for taking such good and thorough care of you and your interests, including showing you some sites you didn't even know about beforehand.
What's great about it: Comprehensive in scope; clear and succinct in presentation.
What's not so great: I had to do my own keyboarding (joking)

SIGNING UP FOR NEXT YEARS-2017- SOFTWARE WAS CONFUSING AT THE END. I'M NOT SURE IF I GOT SIGNED UP OR NOT

Got 'em done

Very easy to use and it catches anything that you may have missed when entering information. It's great. I used to have my dad do my taxes but with this product, I've been doing them myself for 2 years.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Constant updates that sometimes won't work because of Windows
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I could ot get the program to automaticly include my pension income and had to go back and manuely insert on the computer.
On my state return it did not correctly record the Michigan pension deduction. I had to go back and insert the Letter P to that part of the form.
In previous years (8) I had not had problems in this section. Had I not had experience with this subject, I would have had even a harder time. Fell sorry for persons using your system who have no experience.
You also have no election for refunds to be credited to estimated tax applications.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Many Years with Turbo Tax

Do not know why on saving my tax return mid way through preparation, the software saved the file in the wrong area. Fortunately a very professional Intuit tech rep found a work around so I would not have to do my taxes all over again.
What's great about it: Simple and Effective
What's not so great: First time a tax file was saved in the wrong folder
