Added Complexity

I am generally pleased with TurboTax since I have been using it for several years. However, this year's return seemed more challenging to prepare due to the added health questionnaire and student tuition topics. There needs to be a simpler way to do this.
I purchased the TurboTax Deluxe edition for 2015 but was disappointed to find out it only came with one free Federal e-file and charged an additional 19.99 for a stat e-file. This amount is exceedingly costly and not justified!
What's great about it: Generally easy to use and file.
What's not so great: Too much cost to efile state return

Once agin it reigns SUPREME

I have been using Turbo Tax for as many years as I can remember - 10 plus at least. It has always proven to be a great program, easy to use and has so many features built in to assist you! I always get the get the "Deluxe" because it has State programming as a part of the package. With the ever changing tax laws and what is and isn't deductible each year changing, I feel assured I am covering all my bases and comfortable that I know my returns are correct - and I am not paying someone else hundreds of dollars!
What's great about it: Very easy to comlete and use!! Guided me all the way
What's not so great: Nothing - Nada -

Soooo Easy

I love using Turbo Tax and have done so for over 10 years; it gets easier and easier every year. I usually never have a "con" with Turbo Tax, but something happened this year. The payment screen and font size was 1/10th the size of the return itself, nearly impossible to read or enter payment information. What happened?
What's great about it: Ease of moving through entire return
What's not so great: Payment screen -- font too small, no way to enlarge

Excellent after installation

What's great about it: Walks one through all the steps of a standard return. Simple and straight forward a 1000x better than doing it by hand.
What's not so great: It was a little iffy when installing and the program didn't start until I had to reboot my PC.

Challenging

Did a brief stint of consulting where I made only $1200. I don't really operate my own business and the work was outside my normal area of expertise. As such I did not purchase the business version of turbotax. However, I did receive a 1099 from the business. After entering my 1099 misc info the review came back with errors. The app asked a bunch of questions from the schedule c form that I couldn't answer based on my current level of tax code knowledge and I eventually called customer service. The guy who helped was great and got it all straightened out, but it could been accomplished more easily if the application had been more descriptive or provided examples during the data entry. (Eg. If you did not maintain any assets then select the Cash box).
What's great about it: Helpful support operators
What's not so great: 1099MISC/Schedule C entry was really confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I had a baby

Overall good

The questions were structured somewhat different from prior years. I have been a TurboTax user for 5 years or more and this is the first time I was confused by the process. In the end it all turned out fine, except for the fact that the program asked if all my 2014 employer info is still the same, and yet, when it was time to enter 2015 wages, I had to re-enter all the Employer ID, Name and address information.
Not sure what happened, but all other information from my prior year return were carried over and had no other issues after that. Will continue to use TurboTax on future filings.
What's great about it: Comparison of prior years filing
What's not so great: Did not auto populate employer info from prior years

I have used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years. Its the easiest do it yourself tax software on the market.
What's great about it: Fast, easy it dosen't get any better than Turbo Tax
