Great Stuff

I could never bring myself to pay a tax preparation service any of my hard earned money, so I did my taxes old school (by hand). But years ago, I discovered Turbo Tax, and decided to give it a try. Turbo Tax changed the way I processed my taxes and FOREVER will be changed, (no more calculators and no more headaches). It is so easy to use, and to my surprise, Turbo Tax brought to my attention deductions I had no idea existed. Those deductions more than paid for the software. Thanks Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Its so easy!
What's not so great: No Cons, Just Great!

What's great about it: Most everything works great
What's not so great: income from gains on long term municipal bonds was a pain. Also, income from royalty related to patent licenseing .

Turbo Tax is not what it used to be

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and it has been very good - user friendly and accurate. However this year the Deluxe version was very disappointing.
After downloaded my investment income (basically INT, DIV and capital gain distributions from mutual funds), it shows that I have $0 in the capital gain line in the interactive table. I tried lots of different things to get it to show the correct (non-zero) amount without success - it remains zero. I even re-downloaded my investment income.
I was ready to give up until I checked Form 1040 and found that the correct capital gain distribution is there already. I went back to the interactive table, and it still shows zero. This is definitely a bug in the interactive table. I wasted at least half an hour on this problem.
There is no excuse for this bug. If Turbo Tax does not shape up, I will change to use some other tax software.
(I have this nagging feeling that Turbo Tax has this bug on purpose so that users get frustrated and upgrade to the Premier version. If so it is sad - for Turbo Tax).

What's not so great: Schedule D becomes very confusing and has a bug in it.

Much Easier than paper

After having filled out my taxes for the last 40+ years by paper and government instruction booklets, Turbo tax makes it a no brainer. They have develop a very strong intuitive product that makes individual tax returns simple and very easy. I will never do my taxes by hand again!
What's great about it: The questions are stright forward and simple.
What's not so great: No print screen at the "you Just Filed Your Taxes"

Hooray for TurboTax

This is the sixth or seventh year in a row that we've used TurboTax. It is easy to use and thorough for our needs. We are very pleased with TurboTax and would be happy to recommend it to anyone. I'm certain we will use it again next year. Thank you Intuit and TurboTax.

Excellent Product

TurboTax really does make taxes easy! I have zero experience with taxes, I am a young adult working on them by myself for the first time, and I really feel like I know what I'm doing with TurboTax and what is happening to my money. Great product, I highly recommend!
What's great about it: Walks you through everything
What's not so great: difficult to move back and forth between sections
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
