Turbo Tax

Turbo tax leads you through possible scenerios to individulaize your taxes. If you are unsure you can toggle to the IRS form and see how it looks.
What's great about it: Easy to use, imported my info from last year.
What's not so great: Can't use windows XP next year.

Slammed the taxes

We bought the software this year and liked it as much as we did using the online version

Everything is good until you file and have to pay extra to file the state form.
What's great about it: Forms were easy to fill out

Frustrated Over Software Loop -AZ Tax Credit Form

I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for years and have never been more frustrated. I was widowed in 2012 and prior to being widowed I qualified for a $1,000 tax credit. Now that I am single the tax credit has been reduced, rightfully so.
HOWEVER, the software caught me in a major loop because my credits in 2010-2012 were greater than what is allowed now. The return would not transmit for electronic filing because of these numbers it pulled in from prior returns. I even checked to see if the software showed that my status had changed; which it did.
The work around: I had to zero out the amounts from 2010-2012 to FINALLY get my return to transmit.
Help the widows! By the way, why isn't this listed as a Life Change or relationship option below?

Great- once loading issues were wapped up

One the program got going, very easy to uses, and answer all my wuestions

What's not so great: A lot of loading issues- needed to call support
