I continue to enjoy using TurboTax. This year was my most complicated ever, with two self-employment businesses, a change of employers and health care, retirement rollovers and HSA distributions, and more. I noticed that some places where I had to enter information manually before was automated, this year. I had my documentation ready to go (with a few charitable deductions to dig for as exceptions), and finished all sections and completed filing in just under two hours. Very positive experience, definitely would recommend it.
What's great about it: Some steps streamlined, improved explanations, flags
What's not so great: May not fill in all worksheet boxes on first pass
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Frustrating if you still mail federal returns

Not only this year but last year as well. The federal filing instructions don't print and can't find them. Need them to know where to mail my federal return. Very frustrating and not the first year this has happened...
What's great about it: Makes state filing easy
What's not so great: Missing federal filing instructions

I have been using TurboTax for 12 years and like the way the screens take me through every contingency so I am confident all my income has ben entered, and all possible deductions have been considered. I like the option to auto download W-2 and financial info where available. I like the links to additional information as needed. I find the explanations easy to understand.
What's great about it: The screens walk you through the process to capture all your information and look for deductions
What's not so great: 401(k) rollover exemption on State Form should have been picked up; had to enter it manually to avoid taxes
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The state tax preparation was a little complicated this year with me being a resident of Florida all of 2015 and my wife living in Virginia for half of 2015 before permanently moving to Florida.
What's great about it: Easy to use, guides you through the process, thorough.
What's not so great: See below.
Pros: I moved

I was very disappointed when some of the components of Schedule D were removed from the Deluxe version. I'm not happy that in the future I will have to buy the Premier version for something simple that I could do in the Deluxe version.

My state taxes required information from a CF-1040 form, which I know nothing about and there was no way to go back into the return to edit it out. Your tax guide gave no real information regarding the form or what to do to correct the problem. I suspect that something was incorrectly entered earlier, but I do not know what it was because I could not go back in the process.
What's great about it: The guiding process was good
What's not so great: My state return waanted information from a CF-1040, which I did not have, and there was no information how to correct.
