Consistently good and usable product

I used the Non-Cash Charitable Contributions estimator quite heavily this year. It was very useful, lots of items and values listed. The interview process is always easy to use and complete. There were changes in my return this year 529 withdrawals and 1099-Q information. The explanations associated with the worksheets were helpful in understanding the reasons behind the differences.
What's great about it: Consistent interface year-to-year. Donated item valuation guide is good.
What's not so great: Don't like how it re-starts the interview process if you exit and return to the program.

Great Product - Only 1 Hiccup

The software is easy to use - it walks you through EVERY step. However, the update function malfunctioned, and I could not even access the state return. I reviewed the Help pages and downloaded and installed a manual update. Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem. Called the help line next. I have to admit that I REALLY like the feature that allows you enter your name, email and phone number, then has an automated system call you and connect you to a customer service representative. It worked great. The first time I called, I was being transferred to a technician, and was disconnected. However, the second time I called, the agent figured out the problem and stayed on the line for MANY minutes until we were sure that the problem was resolved. Apparently, the updates won't work if you have a previous year's software installed. That bit of information should be made available to users. Once I deleted the 2014 software, I was able to finish my returns.
What's great about it: Easy to use - the software walks you through each step and tells you the form number of the document you need.
What's not so great: The update function would NOT work and I had to contact help.

I have been using TurboTax for many years now and have fewer problems using it over time. Any awkwardness in the past was due to some confusion over some step-by-step instructions, but they have been clearer, and/or I have just become more accustomed to TurboTax (a little of both I think). Overall no complaints. The e-file is much faster and there is much less anxiety it waiting for approvals.
What's great about it: Quick, easy, linked to most financial institutions
What's not so great: None, I had no special circumstances that were not accommodated.

Solid Useful Program

Friendly easy to use program. Help info was easy to get to and usually helpful. Got stuck in an 'update' mode near the finish which required a reboot, but work was saved and wasn't hard to recover. I'd use it again.
What's great about it: Friendly, easy to use

Quick and Efficient

I especially love that it captures the data from the employers records (W-2), it reduces time and just simplifies the process even the more. The questions asked in each section, assists the person filing, in submitting the most accurate return. I also loved that once you have completed your federal return, the system automatically transfers the data in the state return, therefore reducing time again, and rendering a more accurate return to be filed in the appropriate state. The many checks that are offered to ensure the most accurate return are amazing; any error made is quickly highlighted, and the ability to correct the error is made simple and specific. I would certainly recommend Turbo Tax to my friends and family.
What's great about it: simplicity, depicts and reviews all available deductions/credits
What's not so great: Even though I used TurboTax, it didn't bring over all data for the past 2 years on the snapshot of the 5 year record
