Even with my Cons, I received good telephone help to get the job done, even though it took a long time to get the return telephone call on a Saturday.
What's great about it: Excellent for putting all the numbers in
What's not so great: I had a problem paying for the Audit Review and State Return.

When doing taxes I do not like surprises and Turbo Tax does just that... No surprises... What I need to do, which isn't just an easy 1040, works out just fine and I save last years on-line so I can double check MY work, not theirs... Great product ... will get it next year ... ben Turbo Taxing for well over 20 years ...

Confusing Areas

In general TurboTax walks you through the details of what you need. There are three areas where help or program could improve:
State Sales tax - provide a more specific example of when you have large purchases with different sales tax rates. i.e., just put in one sales tax rate for your location and even if a large purchase was purchased in another city with different sales tax rate, just enter it in the section with your local sales tax rate. Also, when you revisit that section, it does not show your previous entries which caused me to double my entries for the two items. grrrrr
1099 Interest section:
Provide more speciific help on the tax free interest section, i.e. it has a line for resident state and also state where tax free bond is from. Show example of putting in your state id, then tabbing through other fields then entering state id of bond municipality is with its percentages (normally 100), etc. You must put in your state on every one.
Entering DL information when filing:
Lastly, I put in DL information when proceeding to file but went back to look at something and when I came back the only info there was my husbands' DL id with all the other info missing including entries for me.

What's great about it: For most things it prompts you appropriately so that you don't have to understand the tax laws.
What's not so great: There are a couple of areas that the product help could provide better examples - State sales tax and tax free intere

STOP ASKING ME TO FILE A STATE RETURN

I LIVE IN FLORIDA, NO STATE INCOME TAX!!!!! I ANSWERED THE QUESTION ABOUT OUR INCOME BEING ALL IN FLORIDA, STOP ASKING ME AT EVERY TURN IF I WANT TO FILE MY "STATE RETURN" NOW!!!
What's great about it: EASE OF MOVING THRU AND COMPREHENSIVE. FINDS LAST YEAR'S RETURN
What's not so great: FREQUENTLY ASKED ABOUT FILING STATE TAXES
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Truly Painless!

This was my first time preparing my own taxes and this whole process made me wonder why I never did it before! The program was cheaper than any tax preparer and it was seriously easy! It guided me through the whole thing step by step using questions I knew how to answer. Amazing product, will use again!
