15 Years of TurboTax

I've been using TurboTax for 15 years and have always found it to be a great tool. When I lived in a non state tax state and had earned income in as a non-resident tax state, TT kept me from going out of my mind with its knowledge of the extremely complicated non-resident tax form. I couldn't do without it.
Federal taxes are a snap with TT. It accommodates both simple and complex situations. It's great for retirees with 401K and 403 B income as well as other more complicated issues with foreign income as well.
What's great about it: An excellent tax tool for all situations, complex or simple
What's not so great: Have only encountered one program error in 15 years.

Make it Simpler

I have used Turbo Tax for years. Now that I am retired, my returns are much easier to complete. However, when navigating the process without "all" the questions from unnecessary subjects, Turbo Tax continues to return to the page (e.g. earnings) and requires the tax payer to scroll down to the next section. Or when one goes back to review or edit a section within a section, Turbo Tax goes through the same questioning of subjects or issues already completed. The old Turbo Tax (maybe 8,10 or more years ago) allowed one to go to a summary page and select the exact line they wanted to edit. I like simple but with the option to get more detailed when necessary.
What's great about it: Transfer of info from one year to next
What's not so great: Keeps returning to previous screen and you cannot just go from one question to the next without scrolling down

Excellent Tax Filing Service

I had no problem filing my taxes, because TurboTax walked me through every step, very thoroughly.
What's great about it: Very easy to use

Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and will again use this product next year. I have always felt comfortable using the software and feel that I get the most out of my return. The logical process of identifying income and deductions and always having the help (learn more) options available ensures that each deduction is maximized.
What's great about it: Loading and using the product was very simple. Importing last years return streamlined the well organized process
What's not so great: In the efiling section, the application should not display last years PIN. Blank fields would reduce confusion

Turbo Tax 2015

I've always kept proper documents, and for a number of years, I arranged the records and presented them to a tax preparer. Then, several years ago I started using Turbo Tax - and have SAVED HUNDREDS of dollars EACH year by doing the taxes myself. I've always done all the recordkeeping work, WHY pay someone else to fill in the blanks on the electronic form???
