Need to have more than one 8606 per person

My spouse and I have traditional IRAs with a basis, and we have a basis in an inherited IRA so we have to file three 8606 forms. TurboTax won't account for that so I have to start another TurboTax file, use it just for the one 8606, and then print everything and mail it in together. If I efile without the extra form and just mail it in separately then the IRS goes nuts and sends you a bill.
Other than that TurboTax works well for us. Love the ability to download from my brokerage and from It's Deductible.
What's great about it: Easy to use; downloads save lots of time
What's not so great: Need to have more than one 8606 per person

Rocked My Refund!

I have used TurboTax for years and have recommended it to family and friends. I love that I can roll the information from the prior year's return into this year's file and that I can import most of my financial information from other sources. I barely had to type anything in! That makes the information more accurate since it significantly reduces human error. The software tracks year over year information, such as business gains/losses, and reports accumulated losses that I would not have thought to enter. Electronic filing and EFT of refunds is the way to go! Overall, a great tool.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and thorough
What's not so great: A lot of questions did not apply to me, but the tool can't know that.

Another great tax preparation time with Turbo Tax. I am so glad that we found and have used this wonderful product. It's fast, accurate, and economical.
What's great about it: Easy to follow step-by-step directions

Couldn't do taxes without TurboTax

Since I retired, I figured that I could do my taxes by hand the old fashioned way. I went to the tax office building, collected a stack of forms and instructions and got started. Within an hour it became obvious that I had made a big mistake. There was no way I could do my taxes by hand. I downloaded TurboTax and breezed through.
What's great about it: Step-by-step process. Very methodical
What's not so great: The tax code is too convoluted (not your fault)

Frustrations

I like using Turbo Tax, but have to remind myself that I am in charge...not the program. Need to understand what it is doing and does it makes sense. If I make an input error or do not notice an assumption the program made, the return has an error.
ie...I made 4th quarter est. tax payment in Dec but got confused and used he Jan 15 due date...I caught it.

While filing the Fed and RI return electronically the screen displayed the wrong total amount of the refund total for Fed and RI. The program still showed the correct amount on the upper left and the printed returns being filed were correct,. So I filed electronically. I am hoping the amount showed was wrong and that the program did not make an error some how .....????

What's great about it: Easy to use....too easy...need to double check things
What's not so great: in 2015 while it imported 2014 to use it had wrong values in many fields
