Gets Better Every Year

This software is so easy to use--even if you do not know anything about Federal and State Taxes. And it gets better every year without overloading me with new procedures. Of course Federal Taxes have not changed that much, so TurboTax does not need to change. So what I am trying to say is that I feel comfortable doing my taxes every year with TurboTax--I have long passed the learning curve problems. I like trying different types of software but in this case, I stopped using any of the competitors years ago.
Just one problem. The State of Hawaii exempts Pension and IRA payments from Taxable Income. TurboTax doesn't seem to know that. So I had to figure out how to exempt our IRA sourced income and that took me some time. I don't understand that. The software had everything it needed to know from my Federal return. It should have been exempted on State return automatically or at least highlighted as an issue to be addressed. It wasn't. And it took me unnecessary time to figure out how to do it.
What's great about it: Easy-Logical Progression thru guide Me
What's not so great: Did not auto Exempt all 1099Rs from Hi Taxes

VERY easy to use! I have used this software for several years now, and will continue to use in the future. It is very user friendly and the ease of the program keeps me coming back.

Excellent tax preparation software

Recommend your experts review the income section dealing with the 1099-R. The questions in that section seem to assume all the income reported comes from a 401 or 403 roll over account. I receive a civil service retirement system (CSRS) earned pension, which is not subject to the same rules as a 401 or 403 account where a penalty is applied by the IRS if less than the required distribution is taken in any particular year.

Always exactly what I need

I've been using TurboTax since the day I started doing my own taxes, and it has always served me well. I get it all done easily and without screaming or headaches. My kids are now using it to do their taxes. Thanks for a great product!
What's great about it: So easy to use, loads of explanations, intuitive structure
