Works! 6 Years Running

For the average, middle-income taxpayer like me: do it! I've used TurboTax for six years. I've never had a problem. The EasyStep method works perfectly. I don't fuss with "Should I enter or not?"
The GUI is friendly, uncluttered. TT allows me to switch quickly between EasyStep and Forms. TT determines the forms that I need based on the questions I answer: Simple and Convenient!
I'm sure Intuit would like me to write more, but I'll close by strongly suggesting: "Just do it; use TurboTax! Don't pay expensive tax preparer's fees. TurboTax is a much better method.

Needed more guidance on how to handle property tax freeze credit for New York State.
Could use better guidance on municipal bond income that is tax exempt federally but only in one state.
What's great about it: Provides excellent guidance in most cases
What's not so great: There were a few situations that I found confusing

2015 Return

Overall Turbotax, with its walk thru features makes the process of filing taxes much less of a hassle....I remember the OLD days when you had to spend many hours on your taxes...now it is a very easy, still a pain, process.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Hang up with submitting additional security info

Execellent tool for doing a complicated task

This year was especially complicated given that I retired the end of April, AND turned 70 in May; not to mention many various investments, etc. However, I was able to achieve all of this using TurboTax Deluxe with only one area I had to work the program to yield the results I needed to report. This was delaying the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from IRA/401k's for the year I turned 70 1/2 until the next year (which is allowed as long as it is taken before April 1st of the following year. Although the "warning page" stating I was required to take an RMD, it also stated I could wait until April 1st of the following year. So great! However, the next page wanted me to enter an RMD, and there was no "box to check" stating I was delaying it. So, the choices were: a) I took the RMD this year; b) I took partial RMD this year, or c) I am not required to take RMD this year. None are "exactly" correct. So, I choose one of them and added a note at the end of the return explaining why I did not take it in the current year.
Other than that, TurboTax worked great for all of my other tax issues, which were numerous. I certainly could not have done it without this program, and it would have cost a significant amount to have it done by a CPA.
What's great about it: In a complicated return (as this year's was), using the step-by-step method made sure I didn't over-look something
What's not so great: Only one area fell short on clarity -- RMD in year turning 70 1/2.

You CAN do this!

Turbo Tax process thorough, detailed and specific AND easy to follow! I was able to make, check and find help with all of my itemization.
I knew what I needed to have in hand as I entered specific information because of Turbo tax prompts.

Easy Peasy

TurboTax Deluxe lives up to its name. Was able to maximize refund. The only complaint is with the outrageous fee for filing a State return. As much as you pay up front for the software including 1 state return the filing for that return should also be included. Will look at competitor products next year for this feature.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: State E file charge is too high.
