Always Use Turbo Tax

I've used Turbo Tax for the past 7 years and love it. Other than last year when they removed forms from the Deluxe version (added back this year), it's an excellent product and easy to use!
What's great about it: Easy, carries over from previous year, makes taxes more fun
What's not so great: some forms are hard to find in deluxe, but they are there!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Overall very pleased with the service
What's great about it: Easy to follow directions, liked picking up last year's data automatically
What's not so great: Trying to pay for E file for my Missouri taxes. kept telling me my conf. # expired.

It works

It works. If you have a simple return it is pretty fast, and gets faster every year you use it. If you have a complex return TurboTax does the job and the price is very fair.
What's great about it: Straight forward and fast. I have used for over 20 years. The second and later years are really made easy.
What's not so great: The step by step version is very detailed. However this is more the tax law than turbotax.

Handles Obamacare poorly

TurboTax accepts health insurance premiums in the usual place, as part of medical expenses. Then later, TurboTax asks about Obamacare (Form 1095-A). If you enter your health insurance premiums in both places, TurboTax quietly adds them to your tax return twice!
- The instructions are not nearly as clear as they ought to be regarding where to enter Obamacare premiums
- If you enter them in two places, TurboTax does not warn you in any way
-TurboTax does not explain how to handle any discrepancy between what you actually paid in health insurance premiums, vs. what your Form 1095-A says.

My first filing with TurboTax was great a experience! I'll do it again! Surprised by the state filing fee right before submitting and no direction how to mail state taxes off as an alternate method.
What's great about it: step by step ease; pick up where you left off feature; audit risk notification
What's not so great: I fear I missed something along the way (medical deductions); extra fee for e-filing state tax
