OK, but needs improvement

I am a long-time user of TurboTax, and there were no surprises with the look and feel of this latest version of TT.
What did surprise me is that the Updater does not work anymore (FYI, I am running Windows 10 Home edition on my PC). I was forced to download the update file and run it manually. It appears this is a known bug because there is a help file in the TT Community Forum. However, Intuit has not repaired the problem despite it going on since late 2015.
What's great about it: Easy step-by-step instructions for filing taxes
What's not so great: Updater does not wok

I think it would be helpful if information was listed at the beginning that efile is not free, but is attached with numerous fees with e-fileing.
What's great about it: Gathering information from the previous year is time saving
What's not so great: filing investment information was very complicated and time consuming.

This is not as easy as turbo wants you to believe. There are many gray areas where explanations are not supplied. This occurs with things like 403b's and IRA's and teacher retirement pensions. I was very frustrated with this whole system, I realize a certain repetition of questions is necessary, but I found them to be extremely redundant and unnecessary. I can do without all of the glitz and displays of the system checking for me. Just a simple statement that a review of check was completed satisfactorily would have been sufficient. Maybe, there should be an underlying assumption that all users are not shy of intelligence.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easier and Easier as we go....

I have tried other software tax products alongside Turbo Tax and find TT to be EXTREMELY easy to follow along and very accurate for the info entered. (i.e. "Garbage in/Garbage out") I have been using Turbo Tax for many many years now and highly recommend it to all private tax payers......
What's great about it: Very Clear and Easy to follow
What's not so great: not much there to dislike!!!!

One of the things I have always done - do the federal, then the state. Once I know what my actual state taxes are, I use that number in my federal return, thus not having to change my deductions the following year because I claimed more in state taxes than what actually paid.
Since I always apply any refund (usually overpayment in my estimated taxes) to next years taxes, I had a problem doing this with my state return this time.
Buying T.T. and doing it myself is the way to go, even if it takes sometimes a little extra efforts and time.

What's great about it: After using T.T. for 10 years, I find some changes fine, others not

What's not so great: There seems to be unnecessary duplication of answers i.e. repeated verification of personal data
