Boom taxes done

so easy. if you have all your paper work in the same place this is the easiest thing in the world
What's great about it: it was cheaper and faster than having a professional file my taxes
What's not so great: can't think of any

My taxes were rejected because your software did not ask for the IRS IP PIN.

Mortgage Insurance Premiuns

When I first entered my VA funding fee, I entered it as an Mortgage insurance premium and then double entered the same figure as a VA Funding Fee. One entry was on a worksheet and the other entry was on a Form 1098. I noticed this error and went back and made corrections to remove the double entry. Need an additional check or question added here to prevent this error from occurring.
What's not so great: Need to double check multiple entries here.

This is about the 5th year using Turbo Tax. The advertising says free federal and free state refunds. However we both know there are costs above the cost of the software. However I will use it again next year.

Less Than An Hour

I have used Turbotax for years after using an accountant for many years prior. It honestly takes less time to sit down and do my taxes with Turbotax than it takes to find an envelope for my forms, drive across town to the accountant's office and then show her all the "stuff" I have brought. All for the same type of computer software to come up with the same answer. Plus I can efile on the spot without driving back across town to verify things look good so the accountant can file them. Less than an hour to do our taxes all while watching a football game at the same time = a win for me.
What's great about it: Very easy to read and follow.
What's not so great: None.

Free Filing

All the recent ads said that I could file for free. Still had to pay for state return. At one point in the return, it said I had one state return that I could file free, but I still had to submit my credit card info. The rest of the program was what I expected, good as usual.
What's great about it: E-Z return was easy to file
