Better than Expected

I think this year was a little smoother than last years return.
The only thing I miss from several years ago is the ability to work on my taxes when I do not have internet.

What's not so great: Would like to be able to work off-line.

I've never self filed, but this software walks you through every possible thing and made it so easy. I was finished in about an hour, e-filed it and done. Piece of cake!

Overall - Easy to Use

I've been using TT for many years, and it's great at carrying over repetitive information from year to year. But sometimes it can be a bit frustrating when new situations arise.
For example, with the new health care laws, TT asks if anyone has a "Qualified Health Care" plan, or one bought through the exchanges. But none of the help screens give any indication of what EFFECT that answer has on your return.
Similarly with 1095-B and 1095-C forms. TT help says that the IRS doesn't need them, but there's no explanation of what relationship #if any# those forms have to the requirements and penalties of the health care laws.
These are just examples of where TT falls short in the area of explanations and guidance.
What's great about it: Remembers information year-to-year
What's not so great: Not always great at explaining WHY something matters
