TurboTax 2015 Review

I have been using TurboTax for 10 years. The best part is how it flows from one year to the next importing old information from your previous return and I like how it compares your current return to your previous one. Fast, easy and user friendly. Price could be lower but it's worth it in the end.
What's great about it: Fast, Easy, Intuitive
What's not so great: Could use better explanations for questions

Soooo Easy!!!

I was anxious before doing my return, however, TurboTax makes it quick and simple to do. You don't need a genius to help you with it.
What's great about it: Simplicity of the questions and information entry. Electronic filing was fast.
What's not so great: None that I can think of, although, the IRS has not approved the return yet.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used Turbo Tax for a number of years. This year my spouse retired and we wondered how that would affect tax return prep. No problem with TurboTax. In the past we have doubted that the software was going to provide us with the best information and refund and have gone to professionals. However, that was a waste of time. They use Turbo Tax too. We do not have big changes from year to year. This is easy, safe, and simple.
Don't believe that a professional has to do your taxes. You can do it yourself. It is not hard.
What's great about it: Easy to use, step by step
What's not so great: Too easy. I worry I missed something or the software missed something. Can you believe it?

I am a retired C P A with enough tax knowledge to be able to recognize errors. I downloaded federal tax free interest info from Edward Jones and recognized that it did not transfer as taxable interest to Iowa return. Correcting this error gave me fits. Finally had to delete imported info and enter by hand. TurboTax needs to make it very clear how this should be handled in the preparation of the returns.
What's great about it: Have used TurboTax for years and am satisfied customer, but --
What's not so great: downloading 1099 info seemed to be more of a hassle than prior years.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Difficulties with 1099 MISC

Info from 1099 MISC was transferred to Schedule C, but the program did not let me know and asked questions about certain fields at the end during the final review. I had to check my 2014 return in which the fields were filled in automatically.
What's great about it: Everything except 1099 MISC was great
What's not so great: Info from 1099 MISC was transferred to Schedule C and it did not ask appropriate questions.

Once Again with Ease

I have been using Turbo Tax for .....at least 10 years, maybe 15. Every year it seems to get easier and faster. I can't imagine doing my taxes any other way. I work with many different computer programs. This one is at the top of the list.
What's great about it: Each year seems to get faster, neater, easier.
What's not so great: No music.

When you live in NH and work "some" days in MA, you should have asked how many days I wanted to apportion
