For the most part this is a solid product that assists you in completing your taxes. It explains tax topics well and guides you through each section fairly quickly. The only issue I had is in the deduction portion when trying to add deductions it failed without any explanation after about an hour of frustration restarting software, reboot computer, looking on online for a solution, and trying to update software I finally called the support line and they instructed me that I needed to import my deductions using itsdeductible instead. Fortunately this was free and it did solve my issues and I was able to continue without any further problems. This did slow the process and did cause some frustration that wasn't necessary. I tried to search online for this issue but did not find any articles to help with this problem. Support was helpful and willing to work through the issue and resolved my issues within 10 min of calling.
What's great about it: good customer service, good explanations on topics
What's not so great: Software buggy, Deduction portion broken

TurboTax is easy to use and has improved over the years. Interface is straightforward. The ability to quickly switch between forms, worksheets and data entry pages makes it easy to check work as you go. The only glitch is on the OREGON federal pension calculation. During the review it tells you to correct an entry. This causes TurboTax to double count a deduction. I had to manually correct this error. This is the second year that TurboTax has made the same error. Otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars.
What's great about it: Uses prior years data; good interface
What's not so great: Gets tripped up on Oregon federal annuity calculation

filing charges

purchased turbo tax deluxe and no where on the box states that there is a filing fee for both fed and state tax. I think purchasing turbo tax should be the filing fees

Turbo did not copy my bank details to the state return bank details and it did not allow me to copy and paste my bank numbers into either account or routing fields.
What's great about it: efile results in faster refunds and scheduling fed payment works when you are on a budget
What's not so great: Does not copy over your bank details to your state return and doesn't allow copy & paste into the bank detail fields

Why use anything else

This is a great product. I have used it every year since 2009 and will continue to use it.
What's great about it: Simply covers everything
What's not so great: 2014 failed to transfer all 401k data to state return
