Ease of use

I find it easy to use, perhaps because I file single status. I like the step by step, and the ability to go back and review. I also like the import features for my W-2 and from my previous filings.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions with detailed explanations. Plus you can tap into professionals or community of software users
What's not so great: None, really. I have been using this software for a number of years & it is improved over time.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Painful process made easy

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and each year my taxes seem to get more complicated (more forms arriving in the mail or have to be downloaded) but when I'm done answering the questions all the forms are gone and I'm done and ready to file. Answer the questions, fill in the blanks and Viola, DONE! It only takes a couple hours and that's due to family life interruptions and not being totally prepared on my part (question pops up asking for a form and I forgot about that one so have to quick download it, etc.) Great having prior year history with turbo tax so the program prefills in a bunch of info and looks at what you did previously to point out things you may need to do now. Definitely continue to buy this product each year. My kids are now of an age to do taxes and they are using it too! Great product to make a painful process easy.

TURBOTAX - SO EASY

I TELL EVERYONE IF YOU CAN READ AND COMPREHEND YOU CAN DO YOUR OWN TAXES. THE COST IS LESS THAN WHAT YOU WILL PAY AT A TAX PREPARER. THEY HAVE ONLINE HELP IF YOU GET STUCK AND 24 HOUR HOTLINE. IT'S A WIN WIN!!!
What's great about it: THE GUIDE YOU THROUGH EACH AREA OF YOUR TAXES IS GREAT!!!
What's not so great: I THINK THIS YEARS DISK WAS A LITTLE HARDER TO DOWNLOAD.

Overall an improvement

Was quite easy getting started. Turbo tax did most the work pulling from previous yrs return. Got bogged down in IRA section. I had converted a portion of my regular IRA to my ROTH and I got confused in this section. Apparently there is no place on the return to report a conversion. Also, contribution/donation entry a little easier but again got bogged down entering details that seems unnecessary. I didn't need all the sections that are available but I could tell the software is quite thorough. Questions are easy to understand in most cases. I tried the help feature once but it didn't seem to work for my questions. I also set a flag but didn't need it.But is a nice feature.
What's great about it: Streamlined over previous yrs. Seems simpler.
What's not so great: Printing/saving process a little confusing. Seems to be redundant.

Much better program than last year

2014 Turbo tax was a higgledy piggledy mess. The geniuses on the commercial would have thrown their hands up in despair. 2015 Turbo Tax was a vast improvement: logical,intuitive and relatively easy. I will recommend this version to any of my peers. A fine product with good attention to detail.
What's great about it: Easy, logical process of question and answer.
What's not so great: Asked some questions that didn't have answers, didn't ask questions other times that needed answers.
