Can't Trqansmit My E-file
on February 26, 2016

I couldn't transmit my return for e-file. I was blocked 6+ times where my only choice was to select: a credit card, or a deduction from my refund, for purchasing something I didn't want. I only wanted to e-file my federal return, I didn't want anything more.
Finally I get the "transmit" button, but I don't know what I did differently from the previous attempts, to get to the "transmit" button.
What's great about it: It's thorough, at least for my simple return
What's not so great: Turbo Tax Delux is not very clear when transitioning to the next account for 1099-R informations

Super Duper Software

I have used TurboTax for years and have found it to be very easy to understand and enter info. Also, the ability to download forms from investment firms and the right numbers get entered into the forms in the right places is an awesome thing. I could not rate TurboTax any higher.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, even for a non-numbers guy who hates to crunch numbers.

2015 Tax Year Experience
on February 26, 2016

I moved residences across state lines during 2015 and the application incorrectly filled in my state residency status. Confusing treatment of HSA contributions by me through payroll deductions when my employer did not report these on my W2. I was able to correctly interpret the multi-layer help screens.
What's great about it: Auto-filling of complex tax forms
What's not so great: Not all cells allowed worksheet entries; confusing treatment of part-time state residency and HSAs
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Even a Preacher Can Do It!

I was able to follow the instructions with ease. I appreciate the step by step procedure. I felt it was thorough. I don't like the extra pressure to e-file and buy audit protection. Asking one time should be enough. when I am done, I am exhausted and want to get on with it.
What's great about it: Simple and clear instructions
What's not so great: Too much extra add-on stuff at the end after one has completed the return.

In general I find turbo tax very easy. A lot of questions require common sense.
What's great about it: Easy because my deductions are pretty much the same.
What's not so great: Sometimes a lot of questions don't apply but you have to ask.

I've used Turbo Tax for my taxes and for my parents--the programs just get easier and more user friendly every year! I always suggest Turbo Tax to my friends. See you again next year.
What's great about it: easy to follow instructions and description for all forms.
What's not so great: didn't find any
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Frustrated Finale

I have used the program for several years and have been satisfied until the last 2 years using the new IRS security code. When there is an error on my part there is not a correction or suggestion from the program to correct it. I was going around in circles with the program. A friend suggested a possible solution to the problem and that worked. The program, however, did not offer any hint of a solution and I could not finalize the filing until I took his advice. In addition, it is tricky implementing the IRS security code at the end. I would, therefore, appreciate it if this could be resolved for next year. Finally, it would be beneficial if I could actually talk to someone during a problematic situation. I think I was able to do that at one time.
What's great about it: Questions needing responses
What's not so great: Confusion re IRS security codes
