Turbo Tax makes tax time painless

I always feel confident when I prepare my taxes with Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Quick, easy

After The Move Year-1

I can only vouch for myself and my circumstances. I have nothing that is severely complex. What I have is straight-forward retirement income from stocks, bonds, interest, dividends, and minor entries for one simple rental property. The feature that provides for selected downloading of information from banks and brokers is so great. TurboTax putting it all into the correct places removes a real burden on the user.
What's great about it: All of the "More Info" tabs in just the right places
What's not so great: What's not to like?

What If worksheet

The What If Worksheet let me easily compare married filing jointly or separately and do estimates for the next years taxes/withholding.
What's not so great: I REALLY miss the "What IF Worksheet" you used to have!

The good and the wordy

Overall, I find it a little wordy in places, but I have been doing taxes for a few years. For example, if you have amounts listed on a 1099 in boxes 1 and 2, and the box "Taxable amount not determined" we have no choice but to submit per the document or ask for another. TT goes on and on about whether the amount in box 2 should be used. Yes! It has to be. If there is no amount there, then the story is different. Please fix this.
What's great about it: sales data for form 8949 rather simple
What's not so great: That foreign tax credit has way too many questions for the average credit with a mutual fund

Easy As Pie

I've been using Turbo Tax for years. I find it very simple and easy to follow. Even when my Grandson does some handyman jobs on the side, it's a big help to follow the forms and explanations to input his expenses. Also, Importing the previous year's tax information saves time in retyping & entering standard information. In addition, the guidelines for mailing returns are simple and a big help.
What's great about it: I like the idea of importing information from previous year's return.
What's not so great: When I E-File the Federal, but not the State, the State return doesn't come up next to automatically print.

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years now, Some of the things I like and appreciate:
*the fact that it can locate and import the prior year's tax information.
* the way it is formatted and how it walks me through all the steps and provides opportunities for corrections.
* it reviews and if there are errors, it identifies them and let's me know.
*calculates refund or due throughout the process.

I highly recommend Turbo Tax. It ROCKS!
