Turbo Tax 15

Overall the software is designed very clear and comprehensively laid out to complete in a couple of sittings Background checks eliminate the need to be researching limitless forms and pamphlets to make sure that all is included and completed. The promise to be able to link up with Mint is something that came short of being all that was propped up to be..
What's great about it: fast, complete, easy
What's not so great: mint does not link up with the tax software, offer of legal representation steps to convoluted.

Very Thorough Program

95% very easy to understand instructions. medical forms for expenses were confusing as some forms seemed to be for both spouses on a page where other forms were detailed for one spouse but nowhere where there identical forms for the other spouse............had to go back and add in expenses for both spouses on the pages that were not identified as for both but obviously you had to combine spouse meds on these forms or you did not have anywhere else to list them.
On state return I did not see any workpaper to take a deduction for social security incomes which is allowable in my state. Turbo did this calculation based off fed return without letting you know it was taken. Had to open the actual state return to see the adjustment was infact made......behind the scenes. Should have at least had a pop up or note letting me know this adjustment to income was auto adjusted.
What's great about it: tax for dummies fits this tax preparation program
What's not so great: medical wps need to show each spouse or dependent separately, not combined

Overall we like Turbo Tax and have used it for over 8 years!
What's great about it: easy even with some difficult deductions
What's not so great: Always have trouble with finding expence tables on my rental property

Turbo tax is the best

I have been using Turbo tax for over 15 years. The instructions are simple and easy to read. Also, I referred Turbo tax to a few of my friends.
What's great about it: Easy to read instructions
What's not so great: IRA contributions and deductions

I can understand the need for greater security, but it is annoying to have to go through all the extra steps to change email address just to pay the fee to file my state returns.
What's great about it: Simple to use. Step by step instructions. Lets you know if there is a conflict or something missing.
What's not so great: Very hard to change email on account.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TurboTax Deluxe walked me through the preparation and submission of both Federal and State returns in less than 45 minutes. That rocks!
What's great about it: Quickest preparation and submission experience to date.
What's not so great: Nothing really.
