The only way to go!

I have used Turbo tax since 2003. I remember the days before Turbo tax and it seems like a nightmare. Using Turbo tax has made tax filing a breeze. A couple hours or so and you have printed files and you can e-file. Life is good!
What's great about it: Easy, comprehensive, accurate
What's not so great: None

Painless Taxes

Our tax status really hasn't changed over the last few years so Turbo Tax saves us time and money vs going to a tax preparing agent. We have been happy with the way the software package works and how it imports our previous tax results in to help with entering tax information. The review section is great. It checks to see if any mistakes were made and what might need to be corrected and gives what your audit risk is. This doesn't state that you won't be audited but just shows a probability.
What's great about it: Quick and easy, made short work for doing our taxes
What's not so great: None in my opinion

Easier to use each year

I've been using TurboTax for approximately 10 years and it has greatly improved over the years. The tax explanations are getting better and clearer each year. The only thing that is a little difficult to deal with is if you have unique tax situations. For example, this year I received a W-2 that did not have Federal Withholding but had State Withholding and there was no way to be able to explain this or completely understand what I should do so I had to go to the local IRS office and wait over an hour just to have this question answered (hopefully correctly). By the way, if you have this situation, you have to attach a copy of the W-2 and mail your return to the IRs--no electronic filing...disappointing as I prefer electronic reporting so I can trace my return.
What's great about it: All calculations done accurately
What's not so great: Unique situations hard to incorporate into the returns

Thorough Return

If you don't rush and pay attention to the questions, Turbo-tax is simple to use. I have used it for many years with little issues. One note of trouble is that on the payment page for E filing, it is confusing the way it states that an ADDITIONAL payment for processing your E-filing is required. This only applies if you choose to deduct payment from your return. In my opinion, Turbo-tax should make this correction in that statement. Perhaps put ONLY WHEN DEDUCTING FROM YOUR RETURN in there in bold print.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Very thorough.
What's not so great: Not really a con, but you need to pay attention to questions.

Too much advertising at the end of the "journey" for me to think this is "easy"
What's great about it: done at your leisure
What's not so great: not ending up where I left off
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Never had an issue before with direct deposit to savings account. There are no "checks" with this savings account. Application indicated missing routing number. Forced to select "Mail" refund in order to complete.
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: Required field by pass
