2015 state issue

To execute the state return, you have to edit the return and answer a bunch of questions. If you click on the continue button, which you do in just about all other questions on this program, you default your federal return info into your state return which in most cases will cause issues.
By adding a simple 'Continue to the state data entry' instead of either Edit or Continue, it would ensure you went to the right place for your state return.
What's great about it: Federal return is fairly easy and straight forward
What's not so great: Actually doing the state return could be one step clearer by adding a comment to the 'Edit' button.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Painless

I receive income from a number of sources, and Turbo Tax is very clear on where to place information. I prefer to go directly to the forms I use and this is easy to do with the organization of the program.
What's great about it: Easy Transfer of information from year to year

Easy and thorough...

I worked for a few months in a city that requires city taxes and it was a bit confusing as to how, in this case, the State was handling the city tax payment. The city was in bankruptcy.
What's great about it: The step by step process is easy and yet i can go back and m make changes as I receives new/updated tax documents.
What's not so great: It took me a while to understand the City tax return process.

Still pretty, pretty good

Overall, a decent experience using TurboTax Deluxe this year. But I did catch a couple of things that slowed me up at the final check. First, it omitted state-specific taxable income based on my response to a question. I caught the mistake and fixed knowing how income was to be treated. Next, 1099-Q had name of child who is no longer a dependent. No idea how TurboTax assigned her as recipient, but I was able to fix in forms mode. I found inputting in the forms mode difficult until I figured it out.
What's great about it: Choice of guide me or do it yourself; switching to view forms mode easy; much better than doing by hand
What's not so great: Confusing nomenclature on state pension, 1099-Q had wrong recipient, entering data in forms-mode challenging

Turbo Tax made filing as simple and easy as possible. We have been using their product for several years. In my opinion, it's the cheapest and easiest way to have your taxes filed correctly.
