Easy tax Filing Package

Overall very much like this product and don't see myself going to anyone else's. Like that Intuit listened to customers and brought back the small business forms to the deluxe package instead of having to purchase the more expensive personal & small business like last year. That package is ok for those who have major business needs but not for someone who just has minor self-employment income.
What's great about it: For the most part easy to use and good prompts for required responses
What's not so great: Had to search for areas to enter self employment expenses and health insurance

Turbo tax was easy, and it gave me more money in return compared to another tax program. I really thought it was user friendly and provided me with assistance in any questions that i had. They make tax returns simple even if you have a complicated return. I recommend turbo tax !
What's great about it: simple and they ask detailed questions to get the most out of your return

Lots of retired folks using investments now. Need better explanations of fees and how they are calculated and impact or don't impact the returns. One example is the impact of financial advisor fees and the 2% threshold and calculation and why Turbo Tax did not itemize.
What's great about it: Easier to use than past years
What's not so great: Jumps without explanation and additional explanation is needed when entries are made and impacts on the government forms

Filed my Returns

I finished my forms and was in the process of filing. However, I realized I hadn't seen my Maryland completed form, so I went back to find it before filing. Every time I trted to go into a section, the forms started asking me questions I had already answered. I finally found a place I could print my returns and did so in order to read my Maryland form. Then when I tried to get back into the filing area, again I got held up by having to answer items I had answered before. Last year I remember I was able to go from one section to another and just review what I had written. I could not find a way to do that with this year's form. Other than that , I like to be able to prepare and file my forms with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Had everything I needed
What's not so great: Difficult to go to different areas of form

I understand that 1040's and associated forms and worksheets interconnect so that what you see entered on one is often brought forward from or influenced by answers on another form. However, in cases where you start a section you end up not needing or answer a question that triggers a special form later and you don't want to (or need to file that), it is NOT easy at all to find out where/how to delete the form and info!
It would be nice if T/T included some help and internal hot button to navigate to a deletion in these cases!
What's not so great: Deletion of forms is not obvious or easy

I really like using this program , because it is very User friendly and has a lot of help links to make it as easy and fast as possible to get your taxes done and get your refund.
