I had no problems except when I asked a question about my retirement pension, which was in law enforcement, it stated that I may qualify for an extra deduction of 10,000. I did not know if it was automatically added or if I had to do something to get it entered. Turns out I went forward anyway and saw later that it was automatically added. That scaaaaared me.

problem with IRA roolover

I rolled over my thrift savings to a reg IRA and it took to long how to figure it out and was very confusing

Couldn't sign up for Audit Defense

I encountered no problems other than trying to pay for Audit defense by credit card. I was able to file by deleting the selection of Audit Defense. It's easy to stop the program and return later where you left off. It was easy to go back and complete estimated taxes when I had all the data I needed.
What's great about it: With data from Quicken and organized documents, I was done in a day.
What's not so great: Program hangs when trying to pay for Audit Defense by credit card.

Rocked my Refund

I have used Turbo Tax for the last five years and have not been disappointed with doing my taxes and filing through the program. It is user friendly, learn more options are helpful and readily available. If I need to review something and need to go back, that option is easily accessible.
What's great about it: User friendly, tips, the live chat and learn more options easy to find

Mostly very good

Most things went well. The down sides - continual attempts to sell us the next level up - we bit last year, we apparently made it thru OK this year with just the deluxe version (we had nothing exotic going on this year). The HSA account is still a mystery, we assume it is in there correctly. In a previous year, as we attempted to understand the details, it took a week and some professional advice from a friend - it turned out TT had it correct, but you certainly had no idea what was going on. This year, there is an obscure box to check if your 1099's had more than the number of boxes that popped up initially, perhaps part of the attempt to up-sell? A mystery K-1 kept showing up - as far as we know, we didn't receive one this year. We assume TT generated this from a previous year? Transferring information worked 2 out of 3 times - this is great since it has never worked at all before.
What's great about it: The taxes got done, we have never been audited using TurboTax
What's not so great: As with all years, some things are not just unclear, they are obscure.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Confident a profesional was not needed

I pondered if my home purchase and tax situation required an profesional preparer. I am long time turbotax user 15yrs+ and decided to try turbo tax for different tax situation. After using the full question query option, I am confident I left no significant tax savings off of my return. The program narrowed form selections to a specific views of all options for my situation and an explaination each one.
If one takes time to carefully look at the questions and options, one will gain confidence that nothing was done in error or left off the forms. The session was a relatively painless and short time period.
What's great about it: Program questions and process flow was easy to understand and navigation easy - quick work
