Turbo Tax 2015

I have used turbo tax for a number of years and have always liked it . Easy to use and understand. My only complaint is that is is very expensive to add another state if you need to file in states other than your home.
What's great about it: Ease of use, Quick for simpler returns
What's not so great: Extra states are very expensive

I've used TurboTax for years and have enjoyed using it and was confident in using it. This year has been awful due to incompatibility with macintosh new OS X, with security issues causing me to spend time with Intuit on the phone to even get into TurboTax, and lastly - each time I open my 2015 return, TurboTax downloads and installs updates. I don't know about most people, but I start doing my taxes as soon as I have all the paperwork needed; I would think that unless the IRS makes changes, TurboTax wouldn't either. I do not feel confident about a return I've begun when I am getting new updates in mid-February. Not sure I will use TurboTax again..... It might be easier and cheaper just to go to a tax preparer. We are on a fixed income, don't own a business, don't have a mortgage. Things don't change much for us year to year.
What's great about it: works fine for filling out on computer
What's not so great: new updates are installed each time I open tax files; security issues were horrid this year.

So easy and fast!

My family has several W2s and deductions and my start-to-finish process with turbo tax (including installing it on my computer) took less that two hours. I understood everything I was being asked to imput.

I appreciate the step-by-step process. Knowing no category was left out was comforting. Although I found answers to most of my questions, I wasn't able to find some. I found related answers, but not specific answers. Regardless, I felt the process went smoothly.

TurboTax would not let me download updates. Had to have my computer man in to manually download. Still don't know if I have them all. This was a real problem.

Great for newbies and old hands.

I've used TurboTax for over 10 years, and it's always been easy to use and gotten me good results. It handled things like selling stock when my company got sold, and the 2 years I was a private contractor I used the Home and Business version to deal with that non-W2 income. And this year we're starting our daughter using it!
What's great about it: The step by step help when you get started, the ability to jump to where you need to go when you're familiar it.
What's not so great: Would love to have a pre-paid state version instead of having a separate cost.
