I believe this is my 14th year using Turbo Tax.I couldn't be happier with the ease of use and the electronic filing.I've never had a problem.
What's great about it: Prefill is very helpful,Instructions are clear,saves a great deal of time

Federal great, state could use a few improvements

It would be really nice if TurboTax would handle the Iowa "married filing separately on combined form" better.
Iowa has an unusual filing classification called "married, filing separately on combined form." It allows for a tax advantage to most married couples without having to each file separate returns, but It requires calculating how income and credits are split between spouses (from the prior year's return). Once you are a repeat customer of TurboTax, and that information from the previous year's return is accessible, TurboTax should be able to do the error prone calculations for the filer, but to date, the filer must go back through at least the prior year's return, to determine for each line item how to divide amounts between spouses. This also requires the filer reading the extended instructions for every line, because amounts are split differently depending on the line (for example, earned income goes to the spouse who earned it; jointly owned savings/dividends are split 50/50; but any income tax refund from the prior year is split in the same ratio as the net income of the filers for the year for which the refund was received).
