Easy as Pie

best and fastest way to file ! The program makes multiple suggestions and quickly checks for errors
What's great about it: all calculations are carried over to the state filing
What's not so great: taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Why Pay to have it done once retired

I like it ... easy and makes filing easy... the nicest is that you can work on it a little at a time and not have any difficulty in going back and checking as well as do it in sections... GREAT

OK but unclear self-employment entries

It seems like every year, I end up with inaccurate state return and had to pay in more. Entering estimated tax paid in current year that applies to previous year throws off state calculation. Also housing allowance is entered on the W-2 and then again in Schedule C which gets added into income and throws off tax calculation. Housing allowance should be included with W-2 and handled that way. I had to go in and manually change the form. I've had this issue the last 5 YEARS and it still isn't fixed. At least I know what I have to do every year to make it work.
What's great about it: Walks thru all the details is great
What's not so great: Unclear on self employment est. payments and housing allowance
