Great program! I use it every year. The step-by-step process makes it very easy to fill out the form.

turbotax deluxe

Turbotax continues it's excellent walkthrough process that leaves no stone unturned. Additional sections on health care costs/insurance are helpful in an increasingly complex area of taxes. However, there was no intuitive way to click on forms already filled out for review (I had entered a state tax incorrectly on a W-2). I ssem to recall Intuit having easy access links to the filled out forms in the past.
What's great about it: Excellent Guide Through for Deductions
What's not so great: Less intuitive way to get to forms already entered for review

basics good... but crashes with old returns

I needed to open a 2006 .tax file from turbo tax. I crashed the 2015 deluxe version several times before giving up on this particular endeavor. I needed 1 item from 2006... and couldn't look it up. everything else worked great.

Great tool, but issues for US citizens abroad

Two biggest problems for resident of a foreign country ... the phone number field does not correctly accept foreign phone numbers; also when the spouse is not a US citizen (and has no US income), and therefore no US social security number, it will not let the return be submitted via e-File.

Relatively easy to use, but it is not perfect!

In my opinion, after you finish your return and before you file it, you should go to Forms [Cntrl+2] on the View Menu on the black bar near the top of TurboTax window and carefully gor through the entire set of forms that "really" make up your Tax Return. Look carefully for any apparent discrepancies between your answers during the Step-by-Step process and what is, or is not, entered on the numerous forms. For example, even though you may have checked the box indicating that you had health insurance for the full twelve months of 2015, it may not show that on the Healthcare Entry Sheet that you are suppose to keep for your records!
What's great about it: The Step-by-Step process works fairly well!
What's not so great: Some of the answers entered during the Step-by-Step process are not accurately reflected on the forms part of software.

Always Helpful

I've used Turbo Tax for 17 of the last 18 years and I've never been let down by them. It's only improved more and more. Really like the valuation section for charitable deductions, honest and I couldn't begin to figure out a value. Also very easy to e-file and love the helpful hints and help section, really made me go back and double check all of my work. I tried another program one year - it was awful, nothing better than TT.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: none

Enjoyed Doing My Taxes

Turbo Tax actually made preparing my taxes enjoyable. Just follow the step by step instructions. No more reading the booklet and not having a clue what they are talking about. Very easy to use with great explanations when needed.
