Retiree Guidance Lacking

With more baby-boomers retiring the needed information for the questions on the 1099R needs to be more complete. Asking for a date that is not provided on the form or questions regarding the cost of the account are not addressed by the software properly. When questions are asked via the software, vague answers make the filer unsure of the accuracy of the information.
What's great about it: Most topics are handled in a straight-forward manner.
What's not so great: Information required on 1099R needs fixing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Deductions Made Simple...Thanks!

As a student and homeowner I thought that I'd have a difficult time making sure that I could actually do my returns without going to a CPA. The process was easy and I got my state returns finished easily as well
What's great about it: logical and clear

Great for simple returns

Unless you have a complicated situation, it is fun & easy to use TURBO TAX, especially year after year (exporting entries from previous year to current year is very helpful)

Error 102345 when opening a saved return

Spent about 3 hours on a return and went the whole way till efile-ing. I saved my return and came back to it several days later. Tried to open the saved return and got Error 102345; program couldn't reload the file, so had to start all over again.
What's great about it: fairly easy to use
What's not so great: it couldn't open a return I had saved

When trying to enter the "sales tax deduction" on easystep, the value that should have been on the page was either not evidenced or was wrong. I pressed the update button, accepting the sales tax deduction and the value of $0 showed up. I tried it again several times and it never changed. I then tried "try sales tax deduction anyway" button and it generated the estimated state sales tax deduction and that showed up on the "2015 deductions & credits" page. I went back and accepted the "state and local sales tax deduction", which was 4 times the other value, and the previous value never changed. I checked Schedule A value and it was correct so there seems to be no connection of what is entered on that page and the Easystep displayed value. Should have only 1 data cell for display and entry.
When the tax is e-filed, you get to a page where the information is displayed for the date and time of the e-file. This page CANNOT be printed. It needs a button to print this page for the records.
What's great about it: easy to enter data
What's not so great: data entered not always referenced on the page

GREAT PRODUCT

Been using Turbo Tax since 1995 and still have all the disk even thought I don't have 5 1/4 drive. Also have used QuickBooks and Beta Tested Quick Books. And of course I use Quicken. I guess you can say I am an Intuit Fan!!

Great Program

This is a well designed program. I would only say the updates take a few minutes is I were to be constructive. But this is not an unusual amount of time for updates.

Errors identified are frustrating to find and fix

The most frustrating aspect was the reviewing of errors. Product should provide a link to go directly back to the item in question since often it required me to delete an unnecessary "0.00" or it needed detailed information on a form that had multiple entries and the error didn't tell me which entry the error was on. That was really frustrating having to go back and hunt for what it was talking about to fix things.
What's great about it: perhaps next year if I use the product again it'll save a few minutes already having some of the info entered.
What's not so great: errors did not allow any way to go back directly to the page or document in question
