I have been using Turbo Tax for the last 4 years and each year I am quite satisfied, I will never go back to waiting in line to get in to see a tax professional and then paying their high fees! I can do it myself! Thanks Turbo Tax
What's great about it: easy, walks you through step by step
What's not so great: wish I had got back more money :(

I have used Turbo Tax for years now, it's awesome! I love starting my taxes and finishing within 2-3 hours. Who can say they did their taxes in 2 hours?
What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: A little too simplified

401k rollover issue

I had trouble getting a correct 401k contribution amount that included a rollover and contributions with a new employer. The software wanted to select one or the other and not both as contributions.
Otherwise it remains a great product and I'll use it again as I have for the last 6 or 7 years.
What's great about it: imported last year beautifully
What's not so great: had trouble with 4011k rollover amount

Continues as an excellent program

Have used TT since 1980 except for one year. It's an excellent program and the new "flag" system is outstanding.
Excellent toggle between "easy data entry" and "forms" mode.
The planning for next year is good but could be better. I have to do it on paper to get the results I need. This part of program needs refinement.
I enjoy doing the taxes and have confidences that Turbo Tax gives me the right answers and calculations.
What's great about it: New Flag to book mark is excellent
What's not so great: Even though you checked some boxes it leaves blanks on the forms

Won't compare Joint vs Separate

I knew I was going to be borderline on whether it would be better to file jointly or separately given some unique income disparities and tax deductions for this year.
I was hoping it would allow me to input all information, and then analyze it and say which filing status to use, and who to give what deductions to.
I ended up having to do 5 separate returns and compare the results (wife and mine separate with me claiming our daughter and all the itemized deductions, wife and mine separate with her claiming our daughter and me all the itemized deductions, and jointly), which was unnecessary work that could have been essentially performed by a script. Annoying.

What's great about it: Eh, it does a basic job.
What's not so great: It won't give you a break down of joint vs separate for married couples
