Just so Easy!

For simpler returns, e.g., homeowner, or not, preparing your tax return is fairly easy and quick. Turbo Tax Deluxe, which I used, worked great for my situation. In the past I have used the Turbo Tax Investment program and that can become a little more complicated and time consuming, but, with all your documentation accessible, it was still fairly easy. The more complicated your taxes are, the more time consuming it will be, even with Turbo Tax. Maintaining a good reference file is the key for successful filing of more complicated returns with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use, quick, and not confusing.

GOT IT ALL BACK

I have been using TurboTax for many years 10+ and I love it have never had a glitch or error.
What's great about it: Easy to recover when I have an operator error.
What's not so great: The print could be a little larger

Tried and True!

Excellent, mature program that is set up for import of data but also does an excellent job of matching forms for manual entry of all the required info.
What's great about it: Logical path that covers practically all filing requirements
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Easy to Use

I tried both H&R Block Tax Cut and Intuit Turbo Tax in 2014. So I stayed with Turbo Tax for TY2015. Turbo Tax is much more user friendly; H&R Block seems to me to be "made by engineers for engineers" by that I mean it's not as user friendly as Turbo Tax even though it gets to the same bottom line
What's great about it: User Friendly
What's not so great: Cost

1099-Misc Needs Work

1099-Misc questions and answers insist upon the name of your business, and other information about your business. I understand the need for TurboTax and the IRS to box in a forced choice. But I receive a Medicare Supplement Policy subsidy from my former employer. I am not in a business. I merely want to be able to quickly indicate this payment is taxable income without all the other barrels and hoops thrown in the way.
What's great about it: Easy to use, generally. I've not been audited in the last 15 years I have been using this product.
What's not so great: Not flexible in some cases.
