The only way to go!

I have been useing Turbo Tax now for over a decade. It just keeps getting better! I do our Tax at my leaser and take my time feeling everthing out. All the answers to my questions are right in front of me. I have only had to call for help and a question ONE TIME in over a decade! Now that is pretty remarkable for a novice like me. I would and have told everyone that I have talked too about Turbo Tax how little it cost compared to a CPA.
What's great about it: Takes only about two hours at my conveience
What's not so great: Haveing to follow new regulations

Used for Years

I've used turbo tax for many years and it's my go to tax preparation program. My only irritant is that some of the less common tax issues are not always well explained -- for instance, basis for an IRA. As a retired accountant, I have a good working knowledge of taxes, so I know what should happen and thus can see which path to take with such "non clarity".
What's great about it: familiar and easy, transfers prior year's data seamlessly
What's not so great: occasional "non clarity"

Turbo Tax first thing every year.

I've used it every year since 2004. It's the quickest and easiest way to do our taxes. As a Truck driver, it makes getting the maximum refund simple.

I had trouble working with the 1099 Misc. income system.
I do a city income tax form. It works well but it is unclear if the city form is e-filed along with the state form or if it is left for me to print and mail a paper copy.

Good, but could have been a touch clearer on bankr

The process was simple, but it never asked if I had a cleared bankruptcy in the past year, so I had to search to understand how this should be handled. One help entry indicated the cleared amounts must be declared and another said not. I eventually discerned that ch 7 was not, but the help topics could have been cleared on this point.
What's great about it: Straightforward and guided
What's not so great: Conflicting help entries on ch 7 bankruptcy rules
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have used Turbo Tax every year that is has been available. Used for for both simple returns in the beginning and for business later. Never been unable to complete returns and all necessary forms. Only three times in over 20 years needed additional support which was readily available. Zero errors and zero audits in over 20 years!
What's great about it: all!
What's not so great: none that I can see
