I use TurboTax to not only complete my annual return, but to run different scenarios so that I can evaluate the merits of different tax situations. Because my income is largely discretionary withdrawal from retirement accounts, it helps me evaluate the timing of taking income and timing deductions before the end of each year. I am rarely surprised in January.
What's great about it: Ease of use, ability to review progress of forms and to create scenarios to evaluate future tax strategies.
What's not so great: The software isn't free, although it is worth buying!

Best tax tool on the market for doing you taxes.
What's great about it: Even if you don't know what you are doing they are there to help.
What's not so great: Some of the lingo needs to be as plain as day
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Professional feeling software that builds 100% confidence for filing accuracy.
What's great about it: Organization of Income and Deductions was new and improved, and even easier than before
What's not so great: Former Intuit account usage at checkout was a bit glitchy.

Makes you feel like a pro

I have been using Turbo Tax for 6 years and I am glad every year starts with the pertinent information from the previous year's filing already inserted in the new form.

2015 TurboTax

Been using Turbo-tax since 2004. Its nice not having to put your personal info into each new tax year forms and be able to compare your old returns with the present year. It's to bad that we can't get a free State E-file.

I like using the Turbo Tax software because it walks me through all of the possible scenarios for my tax situation. If I have problems or need to pause my tax preparation it is easy to resume at any time and I don't have to start from scratch.
What's great about it: Easy walk thru steps
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
