In reporting on my consulting business I have stopped using my car for business (I am retired and work pro bono with writing standards), but I updated mileage and then got into a cycle of questions (about 15 I believe) which all had to be answered with a "0" and I had to discover where to put the 0. Just tedious. Generally speaking the process is about as easy as it can be.

Turbo Tax is then best! I have been using it for years.
What's great about it: Uploads data from prior years tax return. Asks you all you need to know.

This is the first time in many years that I prepared and filed my own federal and state income tax returns, because my financial situation is less complicated than it has been for a long time. Using TurboTax was such an uncomplicated process that I was able to complete both federal and state returns in less than half a day and file them both electronically on a secure server. I was also able to see the status of my taxes due and refunds available as I was going through the process of entering my data. I was a little disappointed that the file of tax data I exported from Quicken 2016 did not contain all of the tax information I expected it to import directly TurboTax. Maybe I don't have my Quicken data set up right to identify all the tax related transactions I enter during the year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions, comprehensive
What's not so great: Charging ~$20 to efile my state return
