quick, easy to use

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to file the return. It did not take as long as I expected
What's great about it: Very simple to understand
What's not so great: it did not start automatically whe the cd was loaded

I am so thankful that there is a tool like TurboTax on the market! As a "do it yourself-er", I really appreciate being able to take the task of doing my taxes into my own hands. Thank you TurboTax!

Hit a glitch this year

I've used Turbo Tax for years and like it very much. This year I had to file a return for my partner, who died in September. The program led me to believe I could efile, but the return was rejected. I tried to correct it to get an electronic pin, but i was rejected again. I tried to call the number they gave and the social security number was rejected. This makes sense since the number was reported to SS as soon as she died. When I looked for help in the program, I found info saying you can't efile even though Turbo tax says you can. They need to correct this. Also, I can't get a refund for the state efile fee because they paid this to do the efile. While it's not the end of the world, I think they should refund the money since they should have built into their program information that you cannot e-file for a deceased person. This is the only time I've ever had a problem though and I still like the program overall.
What's great about it: Easy to use, walks you through step by step
What's not so great: Dealing with a deceased return - could not efile

Convenient to use at home. Help screens will get you through it. This year was a lot different than last year with all the security at the end.

Turbo Tax Review

I have used Turbo Tax for 10+ years and I have always had a great experience! I highly recommend Turbo Tax to those without complicated tax, investment , or estate issues.
What's great about it: Easy, cheap, and great guide for deductions.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fast & Simple

I thought it was easier than previous years. Quick to add up and easier to go back and review items. Been using TurboTax since 2002. I like how it will load up everything from previous years.
What's great about it: Even easier than previous years.
What's not so great: Some explanations were too vague.

I was a little irritated that TTax wouldn't import my tax file from 2 years ago (I used a preparer last year).
