Reliable, but could improve on State explainations

Normally I rate TurboTax at 4-5 stars, because it works great for what I need it to do. This year though, I encountered an issue where TurboTax did a horrible job explaining a state tax law (WI), and had have to now refer to a tax accountant.
What's great about it: Working through the federal portion was simple
What's not so great: Explanation of state forms and laws (WI) needs improvement.

Turbo Tax is the Best!

Turbo Tax will walk you through each and every section and all you have to do is read and answer the questions. Once you've completed your return it will allow you to print and will print every worksheet required. It will also carry over your information to the previous year making working with the software literally fool proof and drama free. I love it and wouldn't use any other.
What's great about it: Simple to use and you can't go wrong as long as you read the questions in each section and answer honestly
What's not so great: Nothing that I don't like about the program

Still issues with tuition section and MO DL

Every year it takes me through entering in a bunch of data relative to my son's education only to then tell me that I make too much money to qualify for any credit or deduction. Since it knows my income before that section, couldn't it just tell me that I don't qualify and not make me dig up all of the data?
Also, the Mo DL entry did not work. My DL does not have an ISS date on it. I don't get a new one until 2018. There are other complaints about that issue but no answers or solutions.
Also, it made me log in and get numbers from you multiple times before I could file my returns.

Overall a 9.5+. Excellent directions and follow through. Will definitely be back again next year.

Two years in a row I tried the online version and was unsuccessful so I once again bought the CD. Did have a little problem with the regs. update, computer froze and I had to shut and recycle. Download from Trowe failed first two times but went through on third attempt.
What's great about it: download from financial institutions

Makes taxes easy, but still want money

It's a little ridiculous that people can file for free online and get charged absolutely nothing and get their full refund while people who go out to the the store to buy the Deluxe version still get charged even more money after purchasing the CD.
What's great about it: Fast, easy, and to the point.
What's not so great: Even after buying deluxe i still had to pay for submission.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Always a good refund

I've used TurboTax for over 20 years and have been very happy with my returns. Now my daughter is using it to do her returns!
What's great about it: I like the step-by-step questions that I just answer and it fills in the correct boxes
What's not so great: had some trouble using the state software, had to delete and restart the whole thing to get it to move forward
