REALLY BAD STATE SOFTWARE

This is the second year in a row that Turbo Tax did not calculate the state taxes correctly, or did not allow me to change a critical flag. The option to have the NM Revenue Department calculate the under payment penalty, once checked, never comes up again. So, if you want to uncheck it, you cannot. If the option is checked, Turbo Tax notifies you that you cannot e-file your return because of state requirements. Also, once this happens, the print function for just the state return doesn't seem to exist. As I write this, I am still looking for it.

Glad I don't Owe a Thing!

Even though I didn't receive a refund, I didn't owe a thing this year either; wasn't happy with the latter!
What's great about it: Quick & easy questions that even Master's Student could fathom!
What's not so great: Didn't review my educational credits from previous year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Love Turbo Tax - Normally

Turbo Tax is a great program. God bless the developer. Been using it for many years but now it seems to be getting a little complicated. Didn't expect to have to dig out my 2014 return to look for block 5(a# and see if it were checked. There was no 5#a) just 5 which had to do with 'qualifying widows' with dependent child. Definitely irrelevant for our situation therefore I just continued. That's kind of scary to have to look for something that isn't there..Oh! and one other thing. Why can I never get credit for doing my own taxes. I pay for Turbo Tax but it is never accepted as a deduction. I hope this review helps.
What's great about it: I love the program, It's great for someone who mathematically challenged.
What's not so great: Been using it since 2004, I think but now it is getting somewhat complicated.

Makes Taxes easy

I love the program and being able to import last year's info, and donations from software. I love that it walks me through the topics so I don't overlook anything. The main painpoint is that my Mother had 8 Gambling Income documents and it doesn't allow you to enter it once and give the option to use the name, address, IDs for that casino each time. You have to retype it every time
What's great about it: Walk-through of topics. Explanations of items
What's not so great: Can't opt to carry over tehe name and address for Gambling Income

Fabulous software. No need to see a professional tax preparer...that's always good.
What's great about it: REALLY thorough. They look for EVERYTHING!
What's not so great: Took a little longer than I expected, but worth it.

I have used Turbotax for years. This should demonstrate clearly that I think it's the best product of its kind on the market..
What's great about it: Turbotax covers all the bases
What's not so great: It might be handy to have a list of the documents and data we need to have available for next year.
